Three Peaks Challenge
The Three Peaks Challenge was completed by a joint team from the High Wycombe Branch of Barclays Bank, High Wycombe business networking group Handy Croissant and local radio station Mix107. The objective was to raise money for a hydro-therapy pool at Maplewood School, a local special-needs school. The team completed the challenge in spite of encountering some of the worst weather on record. While the challenge was in progress the eleven local branches of Barclays Bank were doing their own fundraising in support of the school. This varied from branch to branch and included a sponsored attempt on treadmills to match the distance climbed by the challenge team and a set of used walking boots acting as collection boxes. Make Our Day Events was retained by the business manager at Barclays Bank in High Wycombe to be responsible for co-ordinating the fund-raising activities in the local branches of the bank. On the day of the climb we accompanied one of the Mix107 djs as he made an outside broadcast from each of the branches involved in the fund-raising. A total of £13,000 towards the hydrotherapy pool was raised by this event.

Feedback from our client
"You were kind enough to volunteer to co-ordinate the local fund raising at 11 of our local branches and ensure that something was happening at each while Mix107, the local radio station ran their first ever "telethon" in South Bucks. The day ran to clockwork at both ends of the country and all those involved had a full brief from you. Your efforts took a considerable burden off me and allowed me to concentrate on the task in hand. It was a delight and extremely helpful to have a portfolio of photographs together with a written report on what had happened locally."
