Make Our Day Events organised an award evening for the South Bucks and Aylesbury branch of the Federation of Small Businesses. The event celebrated the success and diversity of the small and micro companies who belong to the FSB by presenting the first SME Advocate award to outgoing chairman of Wycombe District Council, Bill Bendyshe-Brown, in appreciation of the support that small businesses in Wycombe District had received from the him during his period in office.
Bill organised a series of Business Breakfasts across Wycombe District during the winter, to listen to the concerns and issues faced by companies with 10 or fewer employees. His working group followed up on the information gained through this SME initiative and continues to do so.
Every aspect of the evening was created by a member of the FSB.
All the photos of the event used on this page were taken by professional photographer and FSB member Peter-Davey.com Visual Solutions.
The venue was the Out of the Dark Studios in High Wycombe, a Street Dreams project, and all of the people greeting guests and serving food and drinks at the event were involved with the enterprise. Street Dreams is the first social enterprise member of the FSB in South Bucks. Out of the Dark repairs, revamps and recycles salvaged furniture as a means to educating, training and employing young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The FSB SME Advocate Award was designed and created by sculptor and FSB member Andy Sinclair at his studios near Wendover in Bucks.
And all the food and drink was provided by FSB members as well.
Fabulous canapes were prepared by By Christopher at their kitchens in Cadmore End, Buckinghamshire and beautifully presented to the guests.
Drinks were supplied by Marlow Wine Merchants Alfred the Grape.

“Jenny is one of those people that everyone needs to know. When I shared my vision for the Expo with her, she immediately saw the potential and agreed to help. Help? Without her it would not have been possible. Jenny works quietly and achieves massively! One word; Awesome.”
"We have been very happy with your professionalism and thorough approach with our recent events. It has made our lives considerably easier."
